Keybinds setup discussion + sharing mine

Sep-03-2022 PST

Hey min maxers...

Just read a thread on the key you use to counter your character and a majority of the people who posted there complained that they were either too long gone or are too far into changing.. However, I am of the belief that it's not too late to refresh your brain to change the way you use it. I've been using the same keybinds since its launch and then just recently switched it around to make sense throughout all the characters I play. It helps my memory... The assigning of similar type capabilities for the keys you use will help you to recall the stagger/weak point/movement capability when you have many different characters and seems to make sense. You'll be accustomed to the new configuration in days, and you won't even realize you've changed it. Simply have a little confidence in your own abilities... Let me share my set-up and my reasoning to each of my choices.

Without further ado , and for my characters in general:

W is for the counter (because SH alt)

S for the main stagger capability (S for stagger hahaha)

D for highest destruction (weak point) ability (D for destruction)

A for any similar movement ability (eg Shoulder charge Charge Demonic Slash)

A for all abilities that is supposed to be an opener, buff, or debuff or similar -- (eg : Maelstrom, Blaze, Heavenly Blessing)

SPACE for any offensive'moving capability (that is usually repeated) in the event of you have any (eg the Spincutter or Tempest Slash)

The Side Mouse

1. Quick move or dash (remapped from the space bar)

2. Side Mouse Any charge-up large hitting ability (eg Strike Wave, Soul Absorber, Strike Wave)

E for any ability that is left

I think that setting everything in a similar way for all alts will help players more that you imagine for instance, to assist you in learning the character's new skills you've never heard of before. It also speeds up the learning process (for all the new 1370s that are now sporting the improving buff, trying out different classes). So, for instance you've got your new 1370 Deathblade alt who has his new powerpass. Now you are fighting an opponent and you need to fight back or stagger - you'll know which button to do.
